Dennis Bergkamp

Dennis Bergkamp

Another caricature of Dennis Bergkamp. Please don’t be bored for him, haha. I made few sketches of him for years and last year, I made a caricature of him from one of his latest photo as the Assistant Manager of Ajax Amsterdam. I love the sketch. One of my favorite actually. And This is the final version of the Dutchman.

Happy birthday Dennis. I hope you will stay at London again. Maybe not for the Manager because of your aerophobia, but you can be a great for the Academy and youth development.

Emma Stone

emma

First post of the year. On March. Hahaha, sorry for my laziness. I hope it can be a good start to begin year 2017 (it must be). Beside Jessica Chastain, here is my another favorite actress, Emma Stone. She has unique facial features and expression. But yeah, still hard to catch the likeness of female face. This is the best I can do for now. Need a lot of practice on female facial features. 🙂

Self Portrait (2016)

self portrait

My last self portrait was made 5 years ago and I think have a new one would be necessary. The new stuff is a large scar on my forehead from a stupid motorbike accident on November 2015. New same glasses, self-made Batfleck t-shirt and bigger smile.

I hope I can finish it in proper painted version like my other works someday. But I really like this sketchy stuff. So it’s gonna be like this for now.

THE JOKER (Jared Leto)

Leto

The Joker is one of the most legendary villain in pop culture history and has been interpreted in many ways. I watched Batman TV Series and Batman: The Animated Series when I was a little kid, read many Batman comic books and watch many interpretations of Batman and his Villains on the movies.

The most iconic and memorable interpretation was Heath Ledger version from The Dark Knight. For me, too much plot holes in that movie and I didn’t like Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel (sorry :D) but everything was forgiven because of Heath’s performance. He made a brand new persona from the Joker. For me he’s not a lunatic clown like we saw in any other forms. He is sane man with tragic background who want spread terror and anarchy to the world. Simply a terrorist with war paint. For me, he fits perfectly in Nolan’s Batman universe.

But the world still exist and new DC universe has come. We saw the new generation of DC heroes and we need new interpretation of DC villains. I can see many possibilities in this new universe. It’s grounded, gritty but we can see meta humans are exist (not like in Nolan’s Batman universe) so it can be very comical and infinite. We had the darkest interpretation of Lex Luthor (played by Jessie Eisenberg) in movie history. Dark and witty actually. And he could be more crazy and powerful if the creative people in DC plan the future seriously.

And yes, The Joker is needed too. And Jared Leto (a picky actor) took the role. Too much negative thoughts for this interpretation. Some people are locked with Ledger’s performance and wouldn’t see any more interpretation of the Joker in the rest of their life. But for me, for this new DV universe, Leto’s performance is perfect. He’s not a terrorist. He is the odd ball. He is the legendary lunatic clown. He is Daffy Duck with blink-blink stuff and purple croco leather coat. He will be a perfect match for Ben Affleck’s Batman.

Many things come and go. Life goes on. Let’s have fun and enjoy the new universe. Respect the past, embrace the future.

HAHA HAHA.

He is my family’s favorite singer. I heard his voice when I was a little kid on my Dad’s tape. His songs were the soundtracks of my childhood. Super drummer with a unique voice, Mr. Phil Collins.

Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman

Heard two shocking news when I having a week trip to Bali. At the same day actually, January 14, 2016. The first one is the terrorist attack at Thamrin, Jakarta. Four civilians were killed and 23 others were injured. May God bless this country. And the other one is the death of Alan Rickman caused by pancreatic cancer. He was one of my personal idol. Such a great actor and a humble person. His film and persona will always be remembered. So, this is my very late tribute for him. Rest in peace, Alan.
